My dad took me to see Jurassic Park when it first came out. I think I was 5 or 6. I nearly pissed myself when the t-rex broke through the car's roof, but screamed out loud when the techie's arm was not attached to said techie.

Tales From The Cryptkeeper, where there's this jackass poacher who's catching animals alive to sell to fur industries and bushmeat factories and shit, with a little native boy as his guide. He wakes up in the middle of the night to see his catch entirely released.

Little native guide keeps telling him of this forest demon, not quite man, not quite beast, and that they should leave. Poacher's like; "I'mma catch the bitch."

As it turns out, the beast is another poacher, cursed to live out his life as the beast until he can pass on the curse.

For the meat of the show, all you see are glimpses of it... shaggy, unkempt brown fur, massive claws, glaring, electric blue eyes...

And then finally, the poacher is caught, after some trippy, wordless adventures through the jungle with creepy as fuck ambient noises. He's caught in a snare, in a clearing, under the full moon.

And out steps the monster; vaguely werewolf like, but with some demonic features. And then... it speaks. With this deep, deep British baritone, with chilling, haunting eloquency. Explains its story, the curse, passes on the curse... goes on his merry way.

Shat a brick fucking wall, as a kid. I was 10, my biggest fear was werewolves/other MONSTER monsters, and it was on at about midnight.
